what byron is saying is that no matter how few or how many shares you think you may have, they will be worth so much more VERY SOON. a few shares can become worth a lot more than you think if you are patient. remember, every few shares you sell, all you are doing is allowing the MM to sell them for much more later on, so all little share holdings really do add up to the dgiv happy family of funds. if you buy at 5 then sell at 6 then rebuy at 7, you have not made any money you have just reduced the number of shares you hold which does nothing but help MM's. watch how fast it takes for sellers to have their shares snatched up, and how difficult it is to even get 1-2-3-4-5 k shares purchased. my A.G. Edwards broker was still trying to get 1k trades in all afternoon and kept calling me to ask what is going on. there screen even froze at one time and he though it was a news release pending that halted trading. he called me and i told him no news halt was in progress, he called down to st.louis main office only to be told that there is a large order imbalance of more buyers than sellers and shares were hard to come by. also, a nice piece of info he told me was that a lot of the sells that you see coming across the ticker are not actual shareholders but MM's selling to each other to make it look like the stock is selling off. nice ploy because a lot of people did jump at the lower bid, you notice the ask never dropped with it, rico should be able to verify most of this.
