Thanks Robert for that info. Does that mean chip fabs only have to change some components of excimer lasers to go down to 0.18 or 0.10 or even 0.07? I would think it would be more profitable for Cymer if chip fabs have to invest new machinaries all over again.

If Intel is going to introduce 500MHZ chip with 0.18 line width mid-1999. They would have to order the lith. equip. When? Now? Leadtime to build stepper/scanner---Leadtime for laser---Leadtime for pre-production and rampup?

Seeing how Intel copy-exact's everything and their next big chip is 0.18 line width. In addition, you can not stretch i-line bulbs to 0.18. That should be alot of lasers for cymer starting aleast 3Q98.
