I'm not sure if that's an exact quote from Sun Tzu's The Art of War. The closest I could find was:

To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself. [That is, of course, by a mistake on the enemy's part.]

Paul Engel. Re: "...that was from the "Art Of War", was it not?" Yes it was. My personal favorite was (to paraphrase), "True military victory is achieved when the enemy capitulates without a battle." Sort of like AMD competing with Intel at the high end. Soon that insight will become clear to the investment community, and we will all be papering our johns with Intel stock. :)
