Dell Pushes to Top Spot In Loyalty

HP Moves to #2

As InfoBead Insider continues to track the loyalty of customers to their current vendors, two companies stand out in their ability to retain considerably more of their best customers' new purchases. These two vendors are Dell and HP. These two firms are more than 10 percentage points ahead of the other major vendors in terms of re-purchase rates. In the scheme of things, this means literally hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue from the commercial market.

The loyalty measures in this analysis look at the brand of PCs purchased by sites that have 50% or more of the named vendor installed. This measure is for actual purchases in the last 90 days.

However, there was a reshuffling of the #1 and #2 positions this month, Dell continued to raise their loyalty metrics, and HP had a downward blip in March for the first time. Dell's gain was seen across a broad based off accounts in the medium and large companies, while HP's decline could be tied to a smaller number of large sites, where they experienced some incursion by IBM. Aside from these few competitive situations, HP was still quite strong in repurchase loyalty..........
