Just thinking aloud: Jobs made a deal with Disney so that Pixar makes the movies and Disney uses its marketing machine to promote and sell them. Well, he could well make a similar deal with, e.g., Sony, with Sony building the hardware or something like that. ___ message from Dennis A Sadowski on Apr 24 1998 1:41AM EST Hi Bill.."Any acquisition will certainly be against shareholders interests". I don't believe that for a moment. AAPL is presently a turn around company, undervalued at present, with a prosperous future ahead. I prefer not to speculate on specific AAPL partners, but there are partners that would grow the Apple platform -- the core of the assets. As far as cloning, I supported Jobs decision to sever the clone-cord and the last 2 quarters profits proved he was right. Jobs believed he had a winner (G3s & G4s) and why share the wealth with clones in his own back yard? A strategic partner to expand AAPL in the business community would also create additional market share in the education sector and/or a partner to expand AAPL in the public consumer appliance/entertainment products market might be potential candidates.
