Off Topic: Elk, I have so many favorite spots in Hawaii. How does one choose? I LOVE the Big Island and I've been snorkeling right beneath Captain Cook's monument. But then there were the hundreds of dolphins surrounding me on the catamaran ride from Maui to Lanai....just INCREDIBLE!!! And the magic of Hana....and the splendor of Haleakala on Maui...and the wonder of horseback-riding in the tropical forest, only to have lunch beside a waterfall and then the thrill of diving in and swimming in the crystal clear waters. I could go on and on and on. Every island is so different from the other, and yet so precious in their own way. And the people...the pride of the people on Kauai after Iniki hit....the friendliness of the Chuka (sp?) sign.....the absolute thrill of riding a mule down the steep cliffs of Molokai to the former leper colony. And the lump one gets in one's throat when one stands at the base of Pearl Harbor...and the majesty of Punchbowl. I have not been everywhere in the world...but surely Hawaii has got to be one of the most beautiful spots anywhere on Earth! It's magic sure enveloped me....even if I am a haole...my heart is Hawaiian. Juanita P.S. Oh my gosh!!! I got so wrapped up in memories of Hawaii that I didn't reply to your invitation! I thank you. And you had better believe that I'll take you up on it!
