Chris, Re: The Sky is Falling

Okay, I've got some folks in my time zone. One of these days Trader Berney will have to find a place on the planet to play in this time zone. In the meantime ...

Trends have been lasting a long time -- months. The last trend turned negative the end of August, 97 for tech and beginning of Sept for the rest of the market. The broader market didn't turn positive again until mid-Jan.

There was lot's of time to choose the wave. Let's make sure we got a wave before we go trend surfing.

I indicated before that I thought this was a pivot week. I still feel that way. But next week is the end of month and Bill on BK thread rightfully points out that there are some seasonality factors at work at the end of the month and few days into the next month. Just something to consider before we go diving -- don't want to become a quad.

There is no doubt that by watching GE, you can see the market getting soft. But, IMHO soft is not down -- yet. Sideways is an option.

I think CNBC has been encouraging the negative tone with multiple comparisons to '96. That was bloody, but it didn't start until the second week of June.

However as BK Bill so fondly states: BWDIK.

Sure a lot of red on my Intl Markets screen.

Even my beloved Karachi 100 is slightly down, but Japan is strongly up. Going to be an interesting Friday.

Over the weekend I'll try to post how I developed the FA scoring system. It was an interesting analysis that only took me three weeks. But, three weeks well spent.

I got my own Doji JuJu book that I bought back in early Jan. Now, if I can only make the time to read it. But, Steve is so good on the candles that I'm more tempted to first read one of the other books I got. From a FA perspective, Graham's The Intelligent Investor cannot be beat. But, I equally enjoyed Market Wizards and its sequal and Investment Gurus. Investment Gurus is particularly good because it shows that there are a lot of ways to skin this cat.

But, I am convinced that if Steve and I can get this FA + TA = PA thing down, we won't have to worry about reading books. Time will tell.

Chris; RE:" JuJu "

I'll be back in a couple of weeks, Chris - going on a business trip. Keep these guys away from penny stocks while I'm gone, willya?
