Excuse me for being naive but Mr Stern posted in a public forum that its Nasdaq not Datek causing the problems so for all the people leaving Datek and going to other brokerages won't they also encounter the same problems elsewhere. Or is mr Stern taking advantage of us less sophisticated folks and trying to pull the old wool over our eyes. I posted earlier to hold off on the upgrades Datek may not need it. From the tone of the posts instead of fancy servers they might get buy with a part-timer with a pad and pencil. Im cash cant take the morning gamble causes chest pain but i have my fingers crossed for those of you who may have hooked a gapper and would like to sell at the open. As an aside that charles Schwab should start recruiting at datek are they crazy admitting there system went down dont they know its heavy volume and or Nasdaq that did it. Best to everyone and Ill reserve a large table at the soup kitchen for all of us

Bill

Just checked out the site you mentioned - they want $19.95 for limit orders up to 1,000 shares - then 1 cent per share. So say, 2,000 shares would be $29.95.

This is more expensive than MB who will do 2,000 shares for $18.95/$22.95 depending on #trades/month.
