I believe they felt that 15 5/8's was the best price to get what they needed. Notice that when the bid dropped to 15 7/16 other market makers stayed on the bid and there was much less selling.

OK, I can buy that. If the stock pulls back some people will take profits, but if the relative strength is bullish new buyers will come in and pick up the shares they're tying to purchase. Next time I see something like this I guess I should view it as a bullish indication, right? Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.
