GPW RECEIVES INTO 2000, INC. MILESTONE AWARD

1998-04-24
BURNABY, B.C

Recognizing Group West Systems of Burnaby, BC (VSE:GPW) as the organization
that has processed the one-billionth line of RPG code using the INTO 2000
tool set, John S. McCracken, Chairman and CEO of INTO 2000, Inc. awarded the
company's Major Milestone Award to Group West President Bill Ste. Marie at
the COMMON Conference in New Orleans.

"With more than 320 companies having purchased INTO 2000 and major service
organizations using the tool set on a lines-of-code basis, we can safely say
that INTO 2000 has processed more RPG code than any other Y2K tool set,"
McCracken said. "Group West Systems has completed more Y2K engagements than
any other North American AS/400 service provider. It was calculated that
their work for Agora Food Merchants Inc. (formerly the Oshawa Group) of
Toronto, Ontario was the project that pushed the worldwide RPG processing
inventory over one billion lines of code."

Group West is currently completing Year 2000 conversion services for both
Bolands and Codville Foods, divisions of Agora Food Merchants Inc. Circa Food
Service Inc., a third division of Agora Food Merchants, has also purchased
the INTO 2000 tool set to perform their analysis and conversion of their
AS/400 Application Software. Bill Ste. Marie stated, "INTO 2000 is a good
tool set because it lets us solve the customer's problem quickly, accurately
and completely. We are using it throughout Canada and the U.S. in projects
right now."

INTO2000 is the only complete client-server tool set for the Year-2000
problem in the AS/400 RPG and COBOL environments. INTO2000 has been the most
widely installed Year-2000 tool set in the AS/400 community worldwide since
December 1996. The product includes an automated methodology, point-and-click
analysis tools and rebuild tools. INTO 2000 works on PC's running WIN 3.1 or
WIN 95, or on Windows/NT servers and through standard connectivity tools to
the AS/400 such as IBM's Client/Access. The tool set is tier-base priced from
$15,000 to $50,000 per CPU or on a lines-of-code basis from certified INTO
2000 service providers. INTO 2000 has been ITAA-certified since November
1996. Other INTO 2000 products include INTO2000 / INVENTORY and INTO2000 /
COBOL.

Group West Systems Ltd. is focusing on the midrange market with offices
located throughout Canada and the Western United States. Group West also
provides a comprehensive range of services to the rapidly evolving
information technology services industry including such leaders as Rogers
Sugar, Pharmasave, BC Rail, Toronto Dominion Bank and Microsoft Corporation.

Message for any naysayers. Good news out today. Proof of product success. May not be reflected in the stock the way some short artists want, but it does reflect the fundamental value of this company AS AN INVESTMENT. For the 'good old boys', here's another building block on the foundation for profit.

cheers.

I can see now that you are a bright guy after all.

'The reason they will benefit is because they may get contracts that will be big in relation to their existing size not in relation to the amount being spent on the Y2000 problem.'

Right on.

Indeed, GPW does need to get a multi billion $$ contracts.
How realistic.

Instead of posting your infantile questions on this thread, call the company and vent your frustrations with the stock you do NOT have yet. Or, if this is the case, complain that the stock you shorted does not want to go down.

Another dare: As a GPW shareholder, I am used to 100-200K of shorts. Go ahead and try to do some damage. Play market where it should be played. Stop using this forum for little games.

Want a big game? With a lot of liquidity? Short Ballard. Bug that company.
