Vince:

Certainly are some big blocks going across this morning. None of that 300 share garbage like yesterday's first trade. <G>

Cheers,

KMT

P.S. Since we're in the dining room, do you think our servers will be dishing out a 5 course meal or more? Anyone see the movie "Babbet's Feast"? I hope it's as good as that. BTW, one of these days I'm going to go have that meal. I hear there's some restaurant up in the northeast that serves it.

Bema Gold Corporation Announces Financing Of $30 million
VANCOUVER, April 23 /CNW-PRN/ - Bema Gold Corporation (''the Company'') announced today that it has agreed to issue 8,000,000 common shares for aggregate consideration of $30,000,000 to an underwriting syndicate. The syndicate will re-offer the common shares to investors at a price of $3.75 per common share through a preliminary short-form prospectus to be filed with the securities regulators in each province of Canada within two business days. The underwriters have an option to purchase up to an additional 2,000,000 common shares under the same terms, such option to be exercised within 48 hours of the agreement. If the option is exercised in full, aggregate consideration received by Bema would be $37,500,000. Closing is expected on or about May 14, 1998.

The proceeds of the offering will be used to further advance Bema's exploration and development projects in Latin America and for general corporate purposes. Assuming the full amount of the offering is taken up, Bema will have cash reserves of approximately U.S.$50 million.
