Just to be clear - I am describing a theory that I put together from different posts on the Yahoo and Motley Fool message boards. It is what makes the most sense to me. I'm sure the other factors mentioned here (INTC rumors, Competition rumors, Nervous Nellies, Options action, etc.) are also at work, but I think that during the past couple of days, the 3.5M lockup shares were the major factor.

The "gloom-and-doom" side of me is worried that the recent declines will scare off what few institutional investors (FIDO) we have. God I hope not.

Of course, the "rose-colored-glasses" side says that the lower price and lower P/E ratio will attract more institutions.

Regardless, I think the institutions will stay away until the lockup shares are absorbed and the price settles down. Next week maybe?
