The scenario seems to occur about twice a year for bull runs. The multiple tops is also indicative of market psychology. There are always those that are trying to buy on the dips until the market makes its last intermediate term bottom. The chat rooms were still buzzing with dip buyers till about late November last year. Conversely, they were still full of shorts in January.

The industries sensitive to interest rates lead. The utilities, banks, homebuilders, and mortgage lenders look to have entered correction ahead of the other industries. The Dow Jones Utilities is already close to its 50-day moving average.
