"Seem to be" is, I think, worth noting. Better things will indeed come, they always do. But worse things do too. I'm unconvinced that we have quite seen the end of it. Just looking at Seagate's inventories over the last few quarters we see that they have chopped their WIP inventories in half but components and finished goods haven't hardly moved. Meantime we hear that high end drives are "on allocation" again. It sort of looks like the right things are finally getting built but there are still a lot of wrong things just sitting there taking up shelf space. At this point you have to worry about inventory write-offs pending as much as demand resurgence potential. This is where we anticipate the recurrence of "non-recurrent" charges. :o)
