I think if they did the buy back right after the price fell in Oct. that would have added fuel to the fire on the alleged leaking of info. early to the brokerage firm (can't remember which one).

Rational may have (wisely, IMHO) wanted to wait for any share repurchase plan until they were operating from a stronger position in there business. They may have needed their cash if they had encountered other unexpected hurdles while trying to regain some strength.

Management didn't share Wall Street's uncertainties as to the future of the company. Nor did it take an earnings announcement for management to learn how the company is doing. When they announce quarterly results, they are telling us about something that they have lived for the last three months. There's no such thing as an earnings surprise from management's point of view. I know I'm saying the obvious, and I don't mean to sound condescending if it is coming across that way. But it is a simple truth that is easy to lose sight of.

Keep in mind, management was buying RATL stock back in November.
