I presume they are picking up on the efforts by Japan to use home grown products IE Komatsu lasers. Whether those systems will really be competitive remains to be seen, however, it is likely that there will be some erosion of CYMI's market share. Akins was, I believe, responding to those events with his comments. His strategy of staying technologically ahead of the competition should blunt the Komatsu effort. I doubt that even Japan Inc can afford to install major fabs with less than state of the art devices so it will be interesting to see how they handle that problem.

Harkness seems to make a habit of trying to torpedo companies with their downgrades. I suppose a drop from 100% could be interpreted as "lost market share" though it doesn't seem a particularly meaningful statement. The new product announcements will keep CYMI's real world production ahead of the curve.
