What is long term case for TDFX? ie: 3-5 years out.

I was looking at their website last night and saw one oem
deal with a euro-box maker (sorry I don't have the link..., in
a hurry today).

There was a post on the yahoo thread saying one of the few
anaylysts covering this company had a lower estimate for 1999
than for '98. Is this bs? The thin analyst coverage of this stock
make the stated long term growth prospects somewhat suspect.
Also, if the company recognizes revenue when they ship product
we could have a stuffed channel already. Has anyone seen any
sell-thru numbers?

Does the gamer segment have to expand? Does 3dfx have to
expand out of the gamer segment? Are there enough gamers
to drive growth long term?

Also, the CFO, which recently left, was also with aapl and chips.
I'm not sure if this means anything, except I have a slight concern
that he's had experience hyping companies.

Baking the books? I have no reason to accuse anyone of
criminal behaviour. However, I'm part of a class action suit from ~3
years ago where the company (Media Vision) had a blow out guarter and was then found to be hiding returned inventory. The only clues
we get are big inventory and a/r....,sound familiar? very painfull to find you've bet big on criminals, don't care to repeat this.

Perhaps we can make the discussion a little more forward looking
for a while...?

Thanks
-Kevin

ps. I'm long, deciding how much more I'm willing to bet on this
company should it fall further.
