I agree. Whenever I request funds (via overnight), I know it'll arrive, whether overnight, the next day or the day after. DHL usually picks up the checks at around 16:00/17:00 the day you ordered it (or the day after if you ordered it too late).

From the little pamphlet that came with my last statement, I think Datek rakes in quite a lot. They have nearly $400 million in margined securities, 7% interest is $28 million/year. That is of course not counting the 15,000 or so trades every day. That said, I think Datek should have no problem coming up with cash to pay for decent customer service- whether they do so is another story.
