Integrated Security Systems, Inc.
Announces Extended Intelli-Site Y2K Capabilities

IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 24, 1998-- Integrated
Security Systems, Inc. ("ISSI") [Nasdaq SmallCap Market: IZZI (Common
Shares)] today announced a new software product for use with its
Intelli-Site(R) security systems integration platform to facilitate
resolution of the Year 2000 ("Y2K") Millennium Date problem for users
of integrated security systems. The announced product, the
Intelli-Site Y2K Gateway, ensures that devices integrated by
Intelli-Site will operate as a Y2K compliant system even if some of
the individual components are themselves not Y2K compliant.
Intelli-Site is a vendor- independent, user-defined PC-based software
platform designed to integrate multiple devices and subsystems from
different manufacturers into a centrally controlled real-time security
system whose functionality can be easily changed by the user without
modifying source code.
The Y2K phenomenon is expected to be as problematic for security
applications as it is for the more publicized applications such as
banking and finance, manufacturing and process controls, and general
business support applications such as payroll, purchasing, and
invoicing. Many security devices in use today utilize embedded
technologies (programmable chips) or are controlled by manufacturers'
application software, and may be more susceptible to Y2K problems due
to the extended service life of many of the devices currently
installed. Additionally, the majority of facilities utilize multiple
subsystems from different manufacturers to provide and control various
security functions such as access control, closed circuit television
surveillance, and intrusion and fire detection. In the security
industry, end user access to the source code for these devices and
subsystems is generally not available, increasing reliance upon the
manufacturers. Therefore, to achieve Y2K compliant certification for
each facility, multiple manufacturers, who may provide different, if
any, means to resolve their individual Y2K compliance, must
participate in the resolution of identified problems. When multiple
manufacturers are involved, different resolution implementations will
most likely result in incompatible Y2K compliant databases, making
integration even more difficult and expensive.
Intelli-Site software, by design, is Y2K compliant. When
complimented by Intelli-Site Y2K Gateway, integrated devices from
different manufacturers, whether Y2K compliant or not, will operate as
a Y2K compliant integrated system, with device control, operation, and
reporting managed by Intelli-Site's consolidated database. The
Intelli-Site Card Management System ("Intelli-Site CMS"), introduced
in March 1998 as a companion Intelli-Site product, provides access
card enrollment and control under Y2K compliance. Intelli-Site CMS is
capable of managing multiple access control systems from different
manufacturers with single card enrollment and single database.
Intelli-Site CMS can be configured to make all time and date dependent
decisions, removing any potential Y2K conflicts from different devices
and also eliminating the need for any other access control application
software which itself may be a source of additional Y2K problems and
database incompatibilities.
Intelli-Site with Y2K Gateway and Intelli-Site CMS provides users
with both a Y2K compliant system and a means to integrate different
devices from different manufacturers eliminating the need to bring all
individual components to Y2K compliance and a standard database
format. Existing equipment, even equipment not currently integrated,
can be integrated and made Y2K compatible, displacing significant
upgrade or replacement costs.

As you know, PlantY2K tools are used via the Internet. If TAVA's clients access the same machine that their home page resides on then that could explain the 'Too many connected users' message. Mr. Zahran is this plausible?
