Welcome Silvie ... hope you enjoy the VLNC thread.

The bottom line here is that the stock goes up and
the stock goes down ... nothing is significant until
the company demonstrates the ability to produce
lithium polymer batteries in volume and begins to
acquire contracts.

Until then ... various speculations naturally occur.

The company has been relatively sparing with information.

One can only hope that no news is good news.

Since VLNC tends to spend a fair amount of time below $5, I would have at least advised her to average in her life savings of $5,000. For example, she could have bought 300-400 shares at a time (three segments) over a week or two, and averaged in below $5.

However, I would NOT have recommended VLNC as a first investment. It's too speculative. With this company, it's an all or nothing proposition. You will either make it big or lose it all.
