<<In the mid-to-late 80s, Pennzoil sued Texaco for interfering with their take-over of Getty Oil. They won $10.5 billion, but then settled down to $2.5 billion by the end of the decade. It almost destroyed Texaco for good. >>

I knew I remembered a lawsuit between them. This was it. TX was a client of mine then. I can tell you it was a brutal battle from my perspective.

FWIW,

Eric

Well, I've read through all of today's messages and I still don't have a clue as to WHY we are UP 1/2 point!! Is it just the same old tired rumor about the "imminent" deal with TX? If so, I may want to play RNTK as a daytrader rather than be a long term holder...

There is another way of looking at this:

<In the mid-to-late 80s, Pennzoil sued Texaco for interfering
with their take-over of Getty Oil. They won $10.5 billion,
but then settled down to $2.5 billion by the end of the decade.
It almost destroyed Texaco for good.

If Mr. Ball was part of this action, then Rentech has a
strong ally with experience in the Texaco trenches.>

Mr Ball may have engendered hard feelings at Texaco and there may be some at Texaco who would only be too happy to get revenge on Ball!!

Al,

You're beautiful man!!! That is good info to know. Mr. Ball seems quite able of advising RNTK in protecting its interests.

Now if he can open a few doors as well...

Regards,

Ron
