Your attacks on those two societies are groundless and without logic. I really hope you can do better than that.

Re: niether place has any domestic demand to speak of, and is completely at the mercy of demand in the developed nations.

Both have an balanced trade with rest of world. Here is 1996 figure:
HongKong Exports: $197.2 billion Imports: $217.2 billion
Singapore Exports: $144.8 billion Imports: $151.1 billion
When you in Singapore, did you see homeless or jobless people?

Re: the gap between rich an poor is mind-rottingly unfair

When does the gap between the have and have nots determine trade? US have the huge gap. That did not defer US has the large trade deficit. Communist china has the smallest gap you can find but have hugh trade surplus.

Adam, closed out my short and bought in about 1/3 today at 36 1/2, want to be in for the earnings move, then will duck out again for another shot back in nearer 30.... a little short term trading here
