Okay, now I understand about the flea bite dermatitis. It is really difficult to know the best road to take on that one. My vet has prescribed oral corti-steroids, but I am not sure these are very good for my cat's longevity, generally speaking. Do you know anything about those?

I bathe her frequently, and her condition is pretty stable. If she were to get any ulcers at all I would be at the vet's office in a flash, and would get a lot more serious about her condition.

Fleas in kittens are very dangerous. A serious infestation can kill a kitten. But from two weeks after birth, you can wash even tiny kittens in a liquid Ivory soap bath to kill the fleas, and carefully blow dry them afterwards. Flea killing products are quite toxic to kittens, and it's important to read the labels carefully.
