Paul:

I'll get an early start here and entry my picks for the new ZContest. Won't be near a computer for the next week, so here it goes...

Long...PSIX
Short...YHOO

I was going to short KTEL, but that was before it took its nosedive the last 2 sessions of 18 points. At 44 to 48, that was a screaming short if there ever was one.

Thanks for taking the time to administrate the contest, your efforts are appreciated!

Regards,

Jack

Chat contest,

Paul,

I missed the reason the picks are due Friday at midnight. Probably record keeping. I hoped to have at least 1 weekend day to research it after the bell on Friday. I'll play anyway you choose, but was hoping for Saturday 2359 hours. I'm back on the graveyard shift (for 6 weeks) and Friday evening is sleep time for me.

Steve

Contest.

Paul,

Thanks for administering the third Z contest. You and your wife are invited out to dinner whenever we can get together.

PS to all: I'll donate the prize again: a $25 gift certificate to Applebee's restaurant. So get your entries in and good luck! We will come up with a comparable prize if there isn't an Applebee's where you live.

Dan

Re: ZSTOCK PICK CONTEST...

1. RECY... A scrap metal recycler that is growing by Acquisition... It became profitable last Qtr... It will have gone from 27 Million in Revenues in 1996 to a one Billion dollar revenue run rate this year...

The stock has been in a trading range and is poised to break out as earnings continue to improve...

2. TAVA... A Y2k play on the Embedded chip market... Almost anything you can think of (computers, elevators, autos, planes, automation equipment, etc.), uses embedded chips... You've heard the stories about the chaos that could occur after 1/1/2000... TAVA is in a niche position in the embedded chip market... It should benefit greatly as more and more companies take preventive action... Coca Cola, GM, Bristol Meyers, are just a few of the companies that TAVA is working with...

The stock is poised for a huge upside breakout as MoneyFlow continues to build...

Jim

ZSTOCK PICK CONTEST-Entries due by 5-1-98

Zstock Contest Rules

1. Contest begins at the market open 5-4-98 and ends on 6-30-98 at the market close. Beginning price will be the price of the stock at the close on 5-1-98.
2. Everyone is welcome to enter and this includes lurkers and or non-SI members..
3. Two (2) stocks will be picked by each participant. Please make sure that your picks are quoted on Yahoo, since the daily updates are generated from this site.
4. The stock must be priced over $5.00, therefore no "penny" stocks.
5. A stock can not be sold once it has been entered into the contest, even if it no longer looks attractive to the contestant. This is a buy and hold contest.
6. This contest is not a reflection of one's trading abilities since stocks must be held throughout the duration of the contest.
7. Contestants are encouraged, but not required, to provide a short T/A (technical analysis) and or F/A (fundamental analysis) of their stocks. Basically a rationale as to why you picked this particular stock. Using the excuse that the dog dumped on the Wall Street Journal is not acceptable. <gg>
8. All persons entering must have their picks to Paul or posted on the Zbest Place to Talk Stocks thread exchange2000.com by 11:59 p.m. CST on 5-1-98. Any picks received after this deadline will be disregarded.
9. The winner of the contest will be the individual who has the largest percent increase in their two (2) stocks averaged together, at the end of the contest on 6-30-98.
10. The winner will be awarded a prize to be determined at a later date.

Please post your two (2) picks here to me or email to Paul at paulzim@abilene.com.
