Maybe another reason for the rebates was that not enough people registered their scanner. I know I never register anything (unless I'm forced to for tech support or an upgrade). I do get the monthly mailings from Visioneer but I never registered a product (there used to be a slot machine game you could play on their website to win stuff that I had registered for). But the rebate forms have all the same info as the registration forms so I guess I (and other database evaders) have been tricked into registering. :-) Best, Jimmy Liberato P.S.-Thanks to whomever sent me the PaperPort 6.0/Visual Explorer info (return address was run through an anonymizer). When I get time I will try to summarize any details that are pertinent to us here as users. Quite frankly it looks like an internal document so I won't be posting the raw contents, just the kind of snippets that Visioneer should be dribbling out themselves (unless aforementioned mole objects). I am not going to let happen the same scenario that occurred with the new models: I had to go to NECX to get the details of the new models way before they showed up on the Visioneer website.
