Apple's revenues have continued to slide. It reported revenue of $1.4 billion, compared to $1.7 billion a year earlier. Apple stock, however, has appreciated about 100 percent since the beginning of the year, outpacing year-to-date gains for industry giants such as Compaq, Dell,IBM, and Hewlett-Packard.
