All the analysts were singing the praises of S Korea and how it was going to be a good place to invest in 1998. Their market hit a high in the low 500's in mARCH and since then has been slowly declining to 411 today, down about 25% from this years high. The 2nd crisis is begining in Korea unemploymnet/unions/bankruptcies. The banks have been drifitng lower over the last couple of weeks despite all the meger talk. Higher interest rates, bad loans and currency exposures should continue to put downward pressure on their share price. The following posting from last night from Dave about banks & Indonesia is very interesting.
