Well Jimmybob, ya see, I consider this Y2k thing to be purty serious. And a whole passel of the problem is that there wasn't enough awareness early on. Heck, even today there's still some folks that hold it with the same regard they hold for snake-oil salesmen. Sure, there's been some shenanigans by yer Jack King kind of characters&#151what with them contraks on the desk an all. An' you know what? There's even a whole lot a shady stuff going on in the name of Y2K that don't even have nothin' to do with it. Heck I betcha there's companies that are just a shell allegedly maybe sellin' some a that Y2K stuff, but all they's are is just a stock sellin' gizmo run-up by them pumpster dumpster newsrag dealies&#151least that's what my grandaddy tol' me and he shore was right 'bout a lot of stuff. Heck, them threads for some of those kinds a shells probably even got some those&#133err&#133what do ya call em&#133shulls and toots, I think. Yeah, shulls and toots pretending to be who they really ain't. Like&#151just as an example&#151maybe a guy who pretends to be a computer guy but don't even know real basic elementary computer stuff, an' in real life he's makin' a buck off unsuspecting folks and at the same time, really screwing things up by making it harder for real Y2K companies to get past the snake-oil reputation.
