The best technology is relative. Visx will have competition from other manufacturers around many perspectives, and the machine that cost the least, does the work, and produces the most dollar profits will be the machine of choice. If that is VISX, so be it.
Frankly, I don't think the money in this industry is in the laser manufacturers anymore. Look at the diving sales trend for VISX WITHOUT competition. I'm assuming the coming saturation of machines will affect their profitability. The profit center is in procedures, and this is where VISX will really make their money.
I'm buying the laser centers on any pull-backs.
My thinking is that if these LVC's don't fly, you'll be using the lasers as Scrap metal.
