Keynes being long dead, I think I would sit up and take notes if he said anything.

I didn't know that he was a socialist, actually. Of course, that's a pretty broad category that covers everything from Mao Tse-Tung to pretty Swedish state nurses to dairy subsidies. But anyway, I thought his main invention, that deficit spending stimulates the economy and can be used as a tool to do so, was still accepted. I mean, isn't that exactly what Alan Greenspan worries about at night? Isn't that what we just congratulated Japan for doing, hoping that it will stimulate our exports as well?
