Las Princesas Road Construction Begins

Date: Wed, 29 Apr 1998 13:34:01 -0700

Anthony Beruschi, President of Ballad Enterprises Ltd., is pleased to
announce that a contract for the construction of drill access roads and drill pads for the forthcoming reverse circulation drill program on the Las Princesas silver/gold prospect has been awarded. Road construction has begun ahead of schedule. Ballad has also received confirmation from its drill contractor that the reverse circulation drill rig is available.

The Las Princesas discovery is located on trend 4 kilometres north of Pan American Silver's producing Quiruvilca silver-lead-zinc mine and six kilometres north of the Tres Cruces deposit. The Tres Cruces deposit has a reported resource of 1.7 million ounces of gold equivalent. It was recently announced by Oroperu, a joint venture developer of the Tres Cruces deposit with Pan American Silver, that a number of major mining companies had visited the Tres Cruces property as potential acquirors.

In addition, the Las Princesas discovery is near the Virgen de Fatima
concession held by Gitennes with probable reserves in excess of 1 million oz and the La Arena concession where Cambior's 46 hole drill program has delineated at least 677,000 oz of gold averaging greater than one gram per tonne.

Expressions of interest continue to be received by Ballad from mining and exploration companies which are interested in the Las Princesas project. This includes major mining companies with operations in Peru. Phase I exploration focused on the Las Princesas concession, one of two 600 hectare concessions within the Las Princesas project. Results indicate the area has excellent potential. Mr. Mickey Fulp, Ballad's chief consulting geologist, reports that the discovery on the Las Princesas concession is a typical Peruvian high sulfidation, acid-leach hydrothermal system with similarities to Yanacocha, Pierina, Tres Cruces and La Virgen. Targets consist of porphyry style disseminated and stockwork mineralization in areas away from
higher-grade vein swarms. Mr. Fulp reports that Las Princesas has excellent potential to host an economic bulk mineable silver-gold deposit.

Ballad is encouraged by its independent geologists' report and
recommendations, the success of other exploration programs in the area and on trend, and the interest in the Las Princesas project which has been shown by other mining/exploration companies.

Ballad announced the acquisition of the Las Princesas project on December 2, 1997. Exploration has focused on the northwestern third of the Las Princesas concession. Drill targets were quickly identified. The 1998 drilling program was delayed due to logistical problems associated with El Ni¤o weather effects. Weather conditions have now improved and drilling will commence shortly.

Ballad has made the April $35,000 US payment required in its option contract for the purchase of a 100% interest in the Las Princesas project. Exploration and development of the Las Princesas project continues.
