Walter: I appreciate you posting any news r/t Bre-x, please keep this thread posted. IMO the minor shareholders will always be screwed with, and the rich will just get richer. I have owned many company stock that has become worthless, and NOTHING ever changes. This was either the scam it appears to be OR there is so much gold in the ground that it would have brought the price of gold under a $1.00 on the world market. Look at a map that shows the major mining companies encircling Bre-x properties, do you think the majors would be their if there was no gold ?

Does mikesloan/merrick walsh/drumbeat have anything to say about the recent disclosures in the Bre-X case? or how 'bout that other inveterate tout, ol 49er? I haven't had the time to stick with this Bre-X thread for the past few months, so maybe I've missed their explanations as to how the fact that Barrick informed Bre-X that 148 of 150 samples were duds, and the fact that Paul Kavanagh and other management debated "again and again and again" the troubling presence of the round gold particles... and no one told public shareholders - how this jibes with the Merrick Walsh testimonials to the honesty and integrity of his brother David and the rest of the Bre-X team in Calgary. (The Barrick results and the timing of the knowledge of same would seem to further raise concerns about the large amount of shorting that went on through U.S. brokerage houses such as Oppenheimer in early 1997.) Combine all this info with the history of the Bre-X clowns and the subsequent fire at the core shack and the b.s. claims of a conspiracy by Bob Hasan and others to buy up BXM stock on the cheap and it really becomes fantastic to think that anyone could possibly believe the crime was masterminded by the fall guy Mike de Guzman. When I get the time, I'll catch up on all the posts and see what's been buzzing. It's good to see some of the old public guard like Alan and Walter still vigilant here. Best wishes to all - except the crooks and their helpers in the brokerage firms, the regulatory agencies and the media.
