Glenayre Wins $13.5 Million Contract For Province-Wide Paging Network In China
CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The Posts and Telecommunications Authority of China's Heilongjiang province has awarded Glenayre Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: GEMS - news) a $13.5 million contract for a province-wide high speed 280 MHz paging network.
Under the contract, Glenayre will install FLEX-based infrastructure equipment in 13 cities across Heilongjiang and will expand coverage in the provincial capital of Harbin, a network Glenayre built in 1997 for China's nationwide paging network. With approximately 400,000 subscribers, Harbin's paging network is one of the five largest in China.
