Skeeter: I hope it's not exit time. I did get a small AIM sell, but I do imagine there's quite a bit more steam. Three great contracts announced this past week and the upgrade yesterday. This looks strong to me, but tell me what you think, please. You're often right.

Glenayre Receives $30 Million In Orders For Buildout Of
PageMart's Advanced Messaging System

CHARLOTTE, N.C., April. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Glenayre Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: GEMS -
news) today announced receipt of purchase orders totaling $30 million from PageMart Wireless
for Glenayre's NPCS infrastructure. The orders are part of a multi-year volume purchase
agreement for the upgrade and migration of PageMart's nationwide paging network to a
ReFLEX25-based network for advanced messaging and two-way paging services.

Glenayre is providing a simple and cost-effective ReFLEX overlay on PageMart Wireless'
existing FLEX network, which currently includes both Glenayre and Motorola equipment. The
ReFLEX overlay is made possible by Glenayre's migration solution, which is based on its high
performance GL-C2000 control system. The network overlay includes Glenayre's GL-T8500
Transmitters, GL-R9000 Receivers, and GL-C2000 control products, which will be installed in
more than fifty major markets nationwide.

''This project is the first application of Glenayre's ReFLEX migration solution for a nationwide
system,'' said Jim Marion, president of Glenayre's Wireless Messaging Group. ''The migration
capability of Glenayre's infrastructure provides carriers an economical path to the two-way
market and will help accelerate the emergence of two-way networks in North America.''

''Our adoption of Glenayre's migration strategy provides us with a cost- effective and expedient
path to a high capacity word messaging network based on ReFLEX,'' said N. Ross Buckenham,
president of PageMart Wireless.

In addition, PageMart has chosen Glenayre's AccessMate(TM) as one of its advanced messaging
devices for the new messaging service. The latest product offering from Glenayre's Wireless
Access Group, the AccessMate is an alphanumeric text pager capable of supporting a broad
range of functionality from registration only to guaranteed message delivery, to transmitting of
preprogrammed messages. The AccessMate is the world's first ''no compromises'' pager and is
currently the smallest advanced messaging device on the market. The new leading-edge features
of Glenayre's infrastructure combined with the unmatched flexibility of the AccessMate are
expected to give PageMart the ability to offer a wide range of advanced messaging services on a
single platform.

Construction of PageMart's network is underway in a number of US markets. PageMart expects
to introduce its advanced messaging services on a city-by- city basis in the next few months with
nationwide services expected to be available by the end of the year.
