JDN--- I agree stock options are the most expensive way to go, BUT in order to get and keep the people required to do this kind of work they need to pay well. These shares do dilute and there is no problem with that if instead of just issueing additional shares the company does a buy back. MSFT gets great people to work themselves many productive hours per week as they become driven by stock price. If there is no appreciation of stock price there will be no amount of shares to keep good people and a tech company cannot survive without dedicated, driven, loyal, employees with a large stake in the company.
