From a true native Texan and Dallasite. . . One positive regarding this areas' lack of natural resources (i.e. mountains, beaches, oceans, etc.), at least TI's employees won't be distracted from their job of producing the best products (DSP's) available. You can always put a positive spin on everything. Long TXN and proud TEXAN.

nothing more awe inspiring than a summer thunder storm on the high plains

I once crossed the Nevada desert at night in a summer lightning storm. No writer, no film maker, no Disney maker-of-extravaganzas could touch it for grandeur. It's near the top in the "most spectacular experiences of my life" category.. Lightning of Brobdingnagian proportions streaked to earth from one side of the horizon to the other. Rain pelted down. Gullies became floods. Highway patrol cars flashed yellow and red as they helped stranded motorists. Fortunately we were in a four-wheeled drive sports vehicle and could cruise on through. But what a night!

Maybe these storms are the pay-off for living in high deserts. Forget TV, just go sit on the front porch. :)

Later --

Pat

Robert and our new found friend Pat and who was it that talked
about the spell checker--him too,

Hi there. Thanks, it is Saturday after all. I'm in a funk just
like the semi industry is now. Both will change and I'm waiting
it out. I think we'll all get rich off our TXN investment but
maybe not until '99 or 2K, '01 at worst--just maybe??? But it's
really tough out there right now.

De-Texization??? cute?

Being Proud as punch to be Texan--I can understand as I've lived
there and relate why; It's a nice country.

Lubbock/Midland---flat "you betcha".

Ladies Hats in the Alamo--that's ok, only applies to buckaroos.

My wife speak Polish and we went to San Antonio to visit a
Polish shrine staffed by Polish nuns--San Antonio was where
a bunch of Polish folk settled. Great city, by the way. The
river walk is a world class tourist spot--I'd go there if I were
anybody who has not.
