Zeev,

The use of Dollars in Asia has been going on for some time. Typically business class hotels have had their tariffs denominated in USD and a lot of real estate leases etc will also be denominated this way. However usually the bill will actually be settled in the local currency so dollars are not actually needed for settlement.

Michael

Zeev, IMO the fact that foreigners want US dollars does not justify rapid monetary expansion but i guess it lets the US get away with it longer than would otherwise be the case. Mike
