For the five-week period through April 10, new prescriptions for Vivus Inc.'s Muse, which uses a transurethral applicator, plunged 34.6 percent, according to IMS, while new prescriptions for Pharmacia and Upjohn's Caverject, an injectable, fell 25 percent. The rapid switch to Viagra may be far from over. Even though the drug has been out for almost three weeks, it is just now becoming available at many of the United States' pharmacies.
