Thread,

Those who assume that VVUS would ride on PFE's coattail are plainly day-dreaming. The following is taken from a NY Times article, dated 4/21:

"While the pill has been a gem for Pfizer, it may hurt its competitors, all of whose impotence treatments involve invasive methods. For the five-week period through April 10, new prescriptions for Vivus Inc.'s Muse, which uses a transurethral applicator, plunged 34.6 percent, according to IMS, while new prescriptions for Pharmacia and Upjohn's Caverject, an injectable, fell 25 percent.

The rapid switch to Viagra may be far from over. Even though the drug has been out for almost three weeks, it is just now becoming available at many of the United States' pharmacies. And the Internet has been buzzing with postings from men who cannot find the drug and are eager to locate the nearest pharmacy that has it.

I will check into it as time permits.

Good luck to all on PFE.
