Re: Transocean Offshore Annual Report
Just one interesting segment:

"The fact is, Transocean Offshore is different. We are a company that specializes in a highly technical segment of the offshore drilling business. Our segment, deepwater and harsh environment drilling, requires high-specification equipment and technical and operating expertise to succeed. We are largely focused in an area that our customers say holds the most promising long-term prospects for their business, and the average contract length on our fleet of floating rigs, currently 33 months, reflects this claim. We do not provide a commodity service and demand for our rigs and services is less sensitive to short-term oil and gas price fluctuations, which should result in a lower level of financial uncertainty."

Also: "Our principal challenge will be the hiring and training of more than 800 individuals to properly staff our expanding fleet of deepwater rigs." They have a school in Amelia, LA to train workers.

They see their customers, who are the major participants in worldwide exploration for O&G, focusing on a long-term horizon.

All in all, a very positive outlook. Hope earnings come in at or above expectations on 4/28.

Long RIG.

Good Luck, Chas
