John, you're too young to be pessimistic but just the right age to be alarmist. I for one, intend to work until I'm told my shoe laces are untied... There's an hysteria about not having enough in this country. There's plenty to go around.. millionaires are a pain in the butt and billionaires are a royal pain in the butt. Did anyone catch the dissolution of Convair on PBS last night.. by an astronaut no less. Or is it simply that we can't pull the plug on being pushed and pulled to define ourselves by consumerism? How many credit cards does it take to turn a light bulb? Wouldn't it be nice if we had a bull market in wisdom and caring that moved beyond rationalizing individual monetary gain above all else. Having just come back from visiting some people at an old age home, I'd have to say the real poverty of old age is the dissconnect that occurs from being involved, productive and social. Saturday thoughts on the economy..
