shane, It is-thanks! The question is whether the cost of production is falling as fast as or faster than pricing cuts at the wholesale retail level. If volume dries up, my guess is that short-term it will not and profit margins will be hurt.

Long-term lower prices can only mean more sales, and likely firmer margins which would be good for the whole sector including INVX....

shane, Oops! I spoke too soon! Looks like HDD market is improving... from an April 24, 1998 Report on AFLX by DLJ Brokerage:

"We believe the company continues to gain market share, and while the overall HDD market has been soft, the company has benefited by being aligned with the right customers such as IBM and Maxtor, which continue to take share from the first tier suppliers. Importantly, after speaking with a number of our component suppliers, we suspect that the HDD market has bottomed out an that inventory has worked its way through the channel and expect to see improvement as the year progresses."

That's good news for INVX too....
