Other Mike,

WebStreet's commission schedule is as follows:

Any NASDAQ stock over $2.00 share and at least 1000 shares - FREE

Any stock, any price via internet - $14.95

Any stock, any price with live broker - $24.95

They used to charge $0.01 per share for stocks trading under $2.00, and additional charges for stocks under $1.00. I think they caught a lot of heat for the "read the fine print charges" and went to the flat rate pricing. (If anyone at datek is listening, this is what is called being responsive to your customers.) They will make more money from me in the long run rather than making a few extra bucks off me in the short term.

Your right about the real time quote charges, but they "credit" your account with 100 free real time quotes for each trade. I don't subscribe to their quote service as I only make one or two trades a day. If I run out of real time quotes I use freerealtime.com's realtime service. freerealtime.com

The executions speed via live broker is excellent. I've had fills at the bid and ask before I could refresh my browser. In fact, I'd say this is WebStreets best asset. I am never put on hold and I can always speak to a broker in less than a minute.

As for the crash last fall, I didn't trade that day. I was holding several positions which immediately tanked and I waited until they recovered to sell. If you should have to use a live broker while your on the road, you will not be disappointed.

I hope this helps.

Mike
