Well Michael, it's really a matter of perspective then isn't it. You can seem to excuse Newt Gingrich's apparently obtuse, insensitive behavior in dealing with his own family values, maybe even Ronald Reagan's too, because, let me guess, you like his politics. Yet you can turn around in the same paragraph and condemn others whose politics I would guess you disagree with.

Never mind that everyone makes mistakes in their lives.

In the final analysis, Rush, Newt, Ronald are no better than Bill Clinton, Jane Fonda, any Kennedy. They do though seem to have the advantage of being compatible with what you believe.

Wait a minute, Michael!!! One of the biggest stories I heard last week was about waste in the military. Not only that, but two ships have gone totally missing!!! I agree with you that waste is terrible wherever it happens in government. But I am not clear about why you usually mention Medicare when you discuss the subject. Do you support Medicare? Do you feel it is the most wasteful government program?

Personally, I become mind numb, to use your phrase, whenever someone tells me what a new bomber costs. I wonder what percentage of that figure is really waste, though?

I don't know anything about the evil regime that took over Vietnam when we left, or how many people were killed. Certainly, though, I think it was very good that we stopped killing people there.
