"now that almost everybody is armed" Hooo, them's fightin words! :-) In the state of CA, law-abiding souls are emphatically unarmed. Guns are concentrated into the hands of cops and scofflaws. I for one would welcome legislation that would make it possible and proper for citizens with a clean record to carry concealed handguns. Guns are like cars. It's not the objects which are deadly, it's their misuse. Nobody gets arrested for owning a 'Vette. Drive it drunk or put it into a sidewalk, that's what's the problem. Our society needs to look at guns the same way, not as mysteriously demonic talismans of all that's wrong with society.
