I have to disagree with you on the availability of good programmers. My nephew who graduated from Texas Tech 2 years back was working for Motorola at about $42,000 per year. Now he is getting $150,000. That is huge salary but companies are willing to pay. And the internet companies - if you can join a startup, they will make you a millionaire.
