Mundane is right, Charliss!! I am sure that I have too much free time on my hands at the moment. My brain thinks of subjects that no one in their right mind ought to ponder, really. I hope I am not making anyone all twisted or anything!!

I am so intrigued that you have invited your friends to join us on Saturday evenings here at the Feelings thread. Do you think they would like to write something? Sort of like carving initials in a tree at a picnic? You could sign them on and just let them type.

Your research on peeing styles is interesting. It is quite surprising, though, that this could be related to a constellation of behaviors generally categorized as feminine. I would have thought that very intelligent men like Alex, who saw the innate practicality of peeing sitting down, or very lazy men, who prefer to sit whenever possible, might be the primary groups who do not stand up.

One thing that would be fascinating is to take a group of young boys who are not only the children of single female parents, but who never really knew their fathers, and have no older male siblings, and whose mothers have not had any other men living in the home, and see if they tend to pee sitting down more so than male children who have had a wider exposure to men. My suspicion is that perhaps it is lack of exposure to men, rather than an idealization of, and attraction to, the feminine which may be at the core of this for some.

In fact, like homosexuality, I imagine there may be several intertwined causative factors. Now you have really aroused my curiosity, however, and I am also wondering if there are any cultures where MOST of the men pee sitting down. Of course, these would have to be first world peoples, for the most part, because the first trick to peeing in a sitting position is having something to sit upon while doing so.

And I wonder if there are variants based on religious beliefs. I have only encountered one sitting peeer, and he happened to be Catholic. I bet pagans like not only to pee standing up, but to do so vigorously, while aiming at whatever pleases them at the moment!
