Mohan I shall make this brief becasue I have to go out today. Perhaps my favorite dynasty in India are the "middle Pathan king of Delhi, 1320-1414" and their descendants. After all who could say to the inhabitants of Delhi... "Now, I am tired of this place. We will all move to Daulatabad in Central India." So the population moved some 1,200 miles overland... across the desert to Daulatabad.
Now have you been to Daulatabd? It is a partuicularly dry and desolate place with nothing much to recommend it.

During the move ordered by Tughlaq Shah 1/2 the city died.

The later despots of note like Sadaam Hussein are just ghosts of Tughlaq, aple ciphers.

Actually, probably the Moghuls were the greatest dynasty in India without the slightest doubt Mohan. The revenue system they developed was coopted by the British and still this day is the basis of the Indian revenue system in the coutnryside.
