Armand and Mindmeld (and anyone else) re: split

The rationale for the split has absolutely nothing to do with the price of the stock in Rambus' case.

It has to do with liquidity. There are only 3MM+ shares in the float. Obviously, in Rambus' case, that has not deterred the shorts as there are 3115030 shares short (as of April 15). Up 32.6% for the month.

Doubling the number of shares might dampen the volatility a bit. With such few shares in the float, it is very easy for the market makers to rip-off shareholders by moving the stock price so much at their discretion.

Note that the volume has dried up to nothing for the past seven sessions.

No one wants to short it here; nor, unfortunately buy it here.

IMHO, volume will rise dramatically at $40 or $48.

Such is life.
