Dave, I hate to say Oh no,but oh no. I have not seen this large a Reg S convertable note, but it doesn't look good. I hate these damn government allowances to sell stock overseas for peanuts to starving elephants. Watch out those elephants are hungry, and one heavy foot will squish a lot of Silicon Investors. I think I know where TCI is getting the funding for their build-out.
Hiram-only opinions not subject to litigation, nothing here is stated as fact.

dave....i view it as mixed to postive..

. antec is going to sell convrt.bonds [possible dilution, depending on price of conversion] to buy back stock[the opposite of dilution, generally considered bullish]..?????...

.i believe were going to see nice upside moves with this stock......i'm still calling this the "sleeper of 98"....

..i think that by the end of this year alot more "stock people" will know ANTEC....dave , this stock might be mid 30's then..

...have a great weekend ..........

Dave, I believe that the repurchase of shares, would be to cover employees exercising options. All companies this decade in technology, give numerous options to employees to keep them. And if these are exercised the company must have shares to give them.
This is part of the reason that MSFT repurchases, and why their stock continually goes up. Its a self fulfilling prophecy, but also a double edged sword.
I was musing about why inflation is so tame, and came up with another reason why wages are not causing a problem. Most high tech employees are getting liberal option allotments. Maybe as they see the stock go up,they are not enthusiastic about asking for pay raises. The government is way behind the curve in calculating inflation in an economy of this type.
Hey and I do believe in HLIT and ANTC.
