Oh dear!!! We have progressed from peeing positions, to wiping!!! God, I love it around here!!!

I am pleased that you remember how your dad peed, Alex, and that he taught you to do it the same way. So we already have some evidence that there are other complex factors involved, in addition to over-identification with the mother, or lack of a masculine role model. This is great!!!

So at least sometimes, peeing sitting down is learned behavior, emulating the father. I will attempt to talk to the man I know who pees sitting down, and see if he can remember the causative factors.

Now, back to wiping. Some women are under the impression that men seldom wipe when they pee. Or perhaps some men never wipe. Do we have any volunteers for an informal survey on wiping attitudes and/or behaviors?
