As I understand it, it seems like most modems get the software, why do you think otherwise? If 3Com doesn't use SMSI's software, they've gotta use an alternative provider, which I haven't heard of. I think there are very few modems which ship without accompanying fax/voice software.

Anyway, your question woud be best directed at 3Com. Is anyone here in contact with 3Com (Ms. Stacey is their IR person)?
